Grantham Town 2 v 1 Sleaford Town
The Under 16’s won a tense tight match against Sleaford Town 2- 1. Grantham broke the deadlock when Ricky North laid a pass off to Callum Bell on the edge of the Sleaford box. He smashed the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Both teams pressed but chances were few and far between. The half ended 1-0 to Grantham. Both teams made changes at the break, but the out come was the same. Sleaford’s long ball approach paid dividends for them as their striker ran on to a long ball and slipped the ball past Jack Drury in the young gingerbreads goal for the equalizer. Grantham kept pressing and Henry Picker and Ollie Clarke both had chance to put Grantham back in front, the winning goal did eventually come from Ricky North as he picked the ball up on the halfway line and ran at the Sleaford defence, he eased past the defence then slipped the ball past the on rushing keeper. Grantham did enough to win this tight match
