Grantham 0 - 1 Solihull Moores

On a wet Saturday it was a game full of competitive spirit and determination. Both teams tried to play football on a slippery surface to their credit. Some questionable refereeing left both team benused at some points but all the players showed great maturity during some frustrating points. The only point in the first half was a clumsy challenge with the Grantham Town goalkeeper which led to the ball being spilled for a simple tap in by Alex Leonard. The second half would have gone either way with Stephen Johnson creeping in at the back post to hit the upright. However Sutton broke quickly and with some clean passing Alister Holding found himself on the edge of the box, with a quick clean turn he slotted the ball into Granthams bottom left hand corner. The game was still open and late in the game Stephen Jonson again found himself at the back post from a corner and this time just steared it wide. Even to the end both teams continued to probe and strive to create openings, but neither team could find a opening, and the game ended Grantham Town 0 Sutton Coalfied 2
