Grantham 1 v 3 Boldmere
Boldmere made the long trip to Grantham and took part in an entertaining end to end game. Grantham carved out three early chances for Jordan Plumber, Alex Walker and Harry Stannard, a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping resulted in the score staying 0-0. Boldmere also had early chance to score but Jordan Baker made a fine save. However the resulting corner saw him and two Grantham defenders all go to clear the same ball, only to see the ball go in their own net. Minutes later Boldmere were 2-0 up when the leagues top score Mark Potts score, his first shot was save by the Grantham keeper only for him to follow up with the re-bound. Grantham came out in the second half with more determination and pressed Boldmere, Jordan Plumber and Billy Hurst both going close. But it was Potts again that scored with an acrobatic finish. Grantham continued to play football and was reward when Jordan Plumber cleverly slotted the ball home. Boldmere won 3-1 but had Grantham taken their chance the score line could have been very different ( story of Grantham’s season )
