Granthm 0 v 2 Histon

Grantham took on Histon in their stadium under the floodlights, on a cold Thursday night. Histon dominated possession but were hounded by Grantham as they worked very hard closing Histon down every time they got the ball. Histon finally got their reward when Grantham’s’ usually reliable offside trap failed and Liam o’Neil was given an easy chance to head over the keeper to give then a 1-0 half time lead. The second half saw Grantham push forward more and create limited chances from long range, Jordan Plumber and Billy Hurst treated but the Histon defence held firm. As the game went on it became stretched and both teams had chances to score. But it was Histon who scored the decisive goal. They broke forward and Jack Sessions shot was bravely saved by Jordan Baker but Sessions reacted quickest to the lose ball and slotted the it home. Histon finished an entertaining game deservedly 2-0 winners where two teams worked very hard on a bitterly cold night.
