Grantham v Tividale produced a thrilling encounter, the game was played in Grantham Towns stadium and the quality of football on show was there for all to see, Both teams have had an indifference start to the season with Tividale riding high in sections 3 after 3 win and Grantham sitting bottom of sections 2 with only a draw to their name. This game was end to end and Tividale had a chance to score within the first minute but the shot went wide. A strong defence and two fine saves kept Tividale out, Grantham got better as the game went on, but Tividales defence was as solid as Grantham’s. It was going to take something special to break the dead lock and Ashley Marsh produce an magnificent piece of skill to get away from 3 players to then slide the ball in for Jordan Plummer to square the ball for Luke Donaghy to tap the ball in to an empty net. The game then opened up and Darryl Beech had chance to wrap the game up but his shot save by Ben Massey in the Tividale game. The last 5 minutes was all Tividale as they pushed for the equalizer, but Grantham defended well and held on for a deserved victory.
