Young Dons 1 - 4 Grantham Town
A good battling performance enabled Grantham to extend their seasons unbeaten record. The home side started with great determination and obviously wanted to put a great deal of pressure on the man with the ball, so the first fifteen minutes were very scrappy. William Barron made a couple of good runs and crosses down the right and it was his good ball through the middle that unlocked the tight defense, with Alex Dempster running on to coolly score. To-wards the end of the first half the home side hit back when Grantham's midfield were caught napping and Young Dons broke in numbers and scored a well worked goal. The strong breeze was with the Gingerbreads in the second half and they managed to keep the pressure on, an excellent William Barron corner was turned home by Alex Dempster. Meanwhile, the hard working home side were a threat hitting the side netting on a couple of occasions. Kieran Spicer came off the bench and hassled and harried the home defense not giving them a moments peace. Grantham sealed the win with six minutes remaining when Alex Dempster completed his Hat-trick. Man of the match was Will Barron for his great crossing and two assists
