Grantham Town 4 - 1 Birchwood
The Gingerbreads started very slowly, waiting to see what the visitors had to offer, and were soon a goal behind when a corner wasn't cleared and Birchwood opened the scoring. Daniel Moulds defended excellently to keep the home side from going further behind and it was his great interception and pass through to Alex Dempster that led to the latter equalising. in the second half Grantham were a different team despite taking a few injuries on the way as they battled to take control. Alex Dempster had a skillful run and finish to put the hosts ahead before Euan Dolby ran from his own half to slot past the 'keeper. Birchwood didn't give up and Daniel Moulds made a goal line clearance. Meanwhile Kieran Spicer, making his outfield debut, was causing problems with his terrific running and persistence to put in a Man of the Match performance. Euan Dolby sealed the win meeting an Alex Dempster cross for Grantham's fourth
