Boston FDC 0 v 2 Grantham
Grantham progressed to the second round of the league cup after a hard fought win over Boston. With a strong wind against them the visitors worked hard to restrict their hosts to long range shots which didn’t trouble ‘keeper Joseph Hoskins. The Gingerbreads dominated the second half as they sought to win the game. Josh Kelham shot narrowly wide and Ben Browne had a fierce shot well saved. Persistence paid off though when, with 8 minutes to go, Ben Browne fired into the top corner via the ‘keeper’s fingertips. Daniel Moulds dealt well with the home side’s breaks, before the win was sealed when good work from Josh Kelham allowed Alex Dempster to round the ‘keeper and slot home. The whole team played well and battled hard but Man of the Match went to Ben Browne for his driving runs and hard work in the midfield.
