Grantham progressed to the quarter final of the Morley Newborn cup at the expense of fellow top of the league team, Worksop Town.
Despite awful conditions both teams started very well but it was the visitors who were most dangerous; Joseph Hoskins tipping over a fierce shot and doing well to divert another around the post.
The Gingerbreads created thier own opportunities with Alex Dempster forcing a good save before Will Barron put in a cross which Euan Dolby teed up, turned and fired in a great volley.
The second half continued at the fast pace of the first and the Home side took some control when a Euan Dolby shot was turned in by Joseph Lote. However, a Worksop long range goal made for a very tense finish although a great team performance from Grantham kept the visitors at bay and maintained their 100% home record.
Great credit must go to both teams for putting on such a display in cold driving rain.
Joseph Lote was Grantham's Man of the match for tireless work in different positions, capped by a goal.
Squad: Joseph Hoskins; Daniel Moulds; Frazer Wingad; Joshua Kelham; Euan Dolby; Ben Browne; William Barron; Alex Dempster; Joseph Lote.
