Where else locally do you have the chance to be involved with a Development Standard club, that is playing in the FA Youth Cup and competing in the Junior Premier League, where it's players get the chance to play regularly in a fantastic stadium also where the club has proved it's commitment
to the youth by recently selecting 3 youth players to play in a friendly for the first team including our Under 15's goalkeeper.
Why would anyone who is seriously interested in football want to go anywhere else ?

Grantham 4 v 0 Birchwood

Grantham reached the cup Semi-Final after a hard fought, but deserved, win.

The first half saw both sides creating half chances but neither side really tested the opposition 'keeper.

The visitors breakthrough came late in the half through Josh Kelham, a fine finish after a cross by Alex Dempster. Both sides were battling hard in the midfield, none more so than the aforementioned goalscorer.

The second half saw the Gingerbreads start to play some better football but the home side counter attacked strongly and if Daniel Moulds and especially Joseph Lote had not been in such good form at the back it may have been different.

As it was, Grantham took control; Euan Dolby powered forward and Alex Dempster finished well in the bottom corner. Alex then squared to Will Barron who smashed home off the underside of the bar. Finally a neat move involving Frazer Wingad, Euan Dolby and Joseph Lote was finished off by an Alex Dempster tap in.

Mention must go to Josh Kelham who worked extremely hard but Man of the Match was Joseph Lote for a very composed defensive performance, tackling well and distributing the ball accurately.
