Grantham Town 2 - 0 Boston

In their final Preseason game Grantham Under 16's took on School of excellence team Boston United on Thursday night in Grantham Stadium.

Both teams battled hard but Grantham always seem to have the edge the first half saw Grantham play with 3 at the back , with Ryder, Cass and Poole dealing with Bostons long ball tactic.  Harry Bartlett came closest in the first half to scoring when he crashed a shot from 30 yard on to the cross bar,  moments later he tried his luck again from slightly further out, this time just over the bar.

With the scores still level going in to the second half, Grantham switch to 4 and the back with Ben Goslin and Adam Kwiatkowski dealing well with Bostons attack on the flanks. with 60 minutes gone the game become more open and Grantham took the lead when Marsh slipped a ball in for Briton to run on to and neatly finish.   Boston then pushed forward hard and had a 5 minute spell of intense pressure, the combination of some fine defending, good goalkeeping and a poor finishing kept the score at 1-0.  Grantham then broke and the Boston keeper dropped the ball from a Beech shot and Briton was on hand to slot the ball home.

Grantham showed their class in this fixture and deserves to win 2-0
